We had a family reunion in June that had a pirate theme. So naturally we had to have a Pirate Themed Birthday Party!

We started off by making 'oceans'. Every bottle was filled half way with cooking oil, the kids then got to put in a handful of seashells. Once that was done we added the 'ocean', just blue colored water. The kids had a blast!
Arrrrgh Matey! We then went on a treasure hunt. At each clue there was an activity that had to be done before we could find the next clue. We played 'Pin the pirate on the treasure map'
This was 'cannon ball pop'. Each child had a black balloon tied to their ankle and the goal was to pop everyone elses cannon ball while trying to make sure that no one popped yours. It lasted all but 5 minutes.
Next everyone was punished to death by walking the plank. We split into two teams. Each person had to 'walk the plank' (a 2x4 board), spin around 3x, crawl through the cave of death, retrieve the chunk of silver, and then go back through all of the obsticals to put the treasure in the team bucket. The kids cheered each other on and it was quite entertaining to watch.

Once everyone walked the plank it was time to find the burried treasure.
Kailtyn had about 20-22 kids at her birthday party, needless to say she got (to put it in her words) "hundreds of toys". In the picture with Kailyn is one of her good friends, Olivia.

AAAHH! Too many presents!

The kids all wanted their presents to opened first. She was immediatly surrounded by all of the kids, each with a present in hand.

What kinds of sister would Ashley be if she didn't try out this toy first. She had to make sure it was safe to play with. This is a Cranium toy that you can change the facial features and the mouth piece distorts your voice. Doesn't she look cute?
